A high ranking administrator frequently made jokes that many people would find highly inappropriate. One such incident took place when he was making fun of another female employee’s car. He told the woman that her vehicle looked like the poster child for domestic abuse. Jokes happen in any workplace. Sometimes they alleviate stress and help the day pass more quickly. However, there are some things that shouldn’t be joked about. Domestic abuse is not something to be joked about. Especially not by a leader in our district. Most people learn what is appropriate and inappropriate in elementary school or even in their home as toddlers. Yet, employees were left in the position where all they could do was laugh along with it, and accept it as an ordinary part of the work environment. But is that the kind of work environment we want for our employees and even our students?

It’s amazing how quickly the board took action when this blog came out, and absolutely insane stuff is still coming out. Awaiting the next post, good moderator.

Cowardly people with no character hide and cover up things instead of dealing with them.

This by itself could be a joke but when taken in the perspective of everything else seems pretty horrible.
