After receiving the news that his position would be eliminated, the teacher went about business as usual. Additionally, he was employed as a teacher with a full job description indicating so, as provided by the district admin. He had been teaching in this capacity for 17 years, often receiving the highest scores in the district on STAAR exams. When later in the year the full-time position became available, teaching and doing his current teaching role, he applied for the position. A hiring committee was formed, and they concluded that he was the most qualified for the job; thus, his name was brought before the board for the position. The board, however, along with the person they were trying to protect regarding the wrongdoing on this site, decided to do something different. They voted into place a new local law that prevented him from getting the position. The fact that the district goes to great lengths to keep wrongdoing and illegal activity hidden is something every citizen needs to consider. When a board is willing to pass a local law restricting an employee from working in the same position they have held for 17 years because they spoke up for decency and common values, what else might they have done that no one knows about?

As an employee of the district this is exactly why a lot of teachers left and the ones still here CANT speak up about things that need to be changed.

When you protect wrongdoing, you encourage more wrongdoing.

The district will not be headed in a new direction until the people responsible for the wrong direction no longer hold any power.

I love our town and school but I have to admit this is looking really bad!

    1. Anonymous

This is beyond bad! Not just doing bad stuff but hiding bad stuff, protecting bad stuff, and bullying the people who stoof up for whats right!

Accountability shouldnt have to be asked for it should simply be. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

Is this the example we want to set for our kids?

Hey mod. Spoke to TEA. They will only step in if actual evidence comes out. Please start posting it.

The person who misled our elected officials is long gone. They fired him, no matter how they spun it. Lets move on.

Just because you were misguided by a feckless person doesn’t excuse you from being feckless in your own responsibilities.

    1. Anonymous

      What does feckless even mean????

Raise your hand if you put yourself before our students and employees.

Raise your hand if you have to spin and explain all of this to the community and our children knowing how wrong it is.

Raise your hand if you will in no way be transparent and accountable.

Everyone here posting that school board needs to go, yet the last several positions have been non opposed! Step up and be the change or if you are incapable find someone who will run! Quit talking about what should have been done in the past and put your words into action.

I agree. We can talk about how bad something that happened was, but talking about history doesn’t change a thing.

How many of you have approached a board member, been to a meeting or out your name in the hat?

    1. Anonymous

I agree that all this is bad, but I also agree that I don’t see anyone else volunteering to help fix it. It’s easy to judge when you haven’t been in the board members’ shoes. Bad leadership at the top and a crooked school attorney could really manipulate and deceive them, I would think. They would me.

This post makes a lot of sense. You can’t erase the past, and you can’t even change it. You can only be honest and transparent about where you stumbled and promise to do better. I think that’s fair and what any decent person deserves.

    3. Anonymous

This is a good point. No one on here is putting in the hours or running for the board. I’m sure it’s hard work.

    4. Anonymous

I agree. We can talk about stuff on here, but bashing makes no sense. I understand everyone wants openness, honesty, and transparency. I think that would quiet the anger of a lot of people on here. Give the board some time. The things that happened here, they didn’t really know about. They didn’t know how the investigation was conducted, for example, by ignoring evidence and all the witnesses. I know a lot of people on here feel very deceived and manipulated by all this, but I bet the board does too. I’m sure a public statement is coming. They generally want to do what is right!

I agree. The things that happened on this site are horrible and should have never happened past is the past. Despite all the talk on here the board is still dedicated their time to try and make thing better. It’s a hard position to be in but if you think it can be done better step up and run.

I’m trying to get behind this. I understand no people are running for the board, but that may be due to the admin the board got rid of in February.

  20. Anonymous

The part that bothers me is that the board hid and covered up all this stuff for 2 years. That doesnt mame me mad or makes me want to bash them and I dont. It actually really scares me.

Be careful of people who avoid self-reflection, accountability, and transparency. If they can’t be real with themselves, they can’t be real with you either.

Guys the board is going to come clean. They just have to make sure they do in a sensitive appropriate way. They are good people that were misled. Give them time.

      1. Anonymous

Not very timely but if you say so

  22. Anonymous

Ill say it again guys. The board was misled by a horrible person that they got rid of once they became aware.

  23. Anonymous

Maybe people aren’t running for school board because of that old quote, “When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas?”

  24. Anonymous

Timer going off tonight! Hate its so late!

  25. Anonymous

We can talk about giving the board some slack and that they shouldn’t step down but if the TEA knew about all this and it was proven they would remove every one of them.

Sometimes good people make bad choices. It doesn’t mean they are bad people. It means they’re human.

    1. Anonymous

I get that if it was a couple of bad choices. The bad choices have been coming up on here for almost 7 months. Thats a pattern.

  29. Anonymous

I could agree to give some slack, but are you going to try and convince me the board didn’t know they were voting to punish someone who was speaking up against all this garbage? They were intentionally and deliberately trying to send a message to the employee and entire district. Me and every other person still employed by the district know this.

  30. Anonymous

Maybe no one is talking to the school board because the school board has made it clear what happens when they do.

    1. Anonymous

      Seems pretty clear for certain

  31. Anonymous

The regime has established the consequences of raising your concerns. You will be eliminated.

  32. Anonymous

When people act to punish people who speak up against wrongdoing, they are also encouraging more wrongdoing because the good people left behind know that they have lost their freedom to speak up against evil.

  33. Anonymous

All the board members got an email about all this garbage. I get that the interview/coverup decided not to talk to a single witness, but did not a single board member think it was their elected duty to look into this, talk to witnesses, and protect employees and students?

  34. Anonymous

Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws. So what are people who create laws to punish those who stand up against bad people?

This is what the regime would call “making an example.” Until they admit that and tell us how they are going to do better and not allow all this garbage in the future, you will have a district where, when bad things happen, they get ignored. It’s sad, but some of us have families to feed. Can’t afford being targeted.

  37. Anonymous

I’d like to remind everyone on here of another saying. “Don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house.”

  38. Anonymous

It’s easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we can’t dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities. The only way to come back from that is to be open, honest, accept responsibility, and promise to do better.

Making up laws to punish people for standing up for what’s right. No one walking the earth today compares in any way to Jesus, but we have a school board trying really hard to be the ancient Romans. Need to punish someone, use the laws even if you have to make them up on the spot.

  43. Anonymous

It’s some messed-up people that, when they have no legal recourse to punish someone for standing up against all this garbage, and through their own actions knew it was wrong, they create local laws to do the punishing. As a current employee, I can promise you all will be silent until they have all stepped down or been removed by the state.

Raise your hand if you helped hide misconduct from the community for years.

Creating laws and policies to punish people who stand up for common values is insane!
