Following an investigation that ignored all witnesses who could corroborate the facts, another school year began. With the person who said and did all these things still in power, students returned and classes began. Disheartened by the school board’s decision to support and protect such horrible things, the person who brought them to light returned to teaching classes for the school district, teachers, and students he was trying to protect. In October, he received a letter detailing how diligently the school would hide and deceive the community. The letter stated that, despite serving the district and community for 17 years, his position was being eliminated, and he would not have a job. It stated he could apply for another position within the district if one became available, but he would essentially be without a job after the school year ended. Many people on this site have questioned why more people did not speak out against these atrocities. Should they have? Yes. But all knew that speaking up for what was right could cost them everything. And the people in power who could do something to protect them chose to punish them instead. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Yet when good men act deliberately to support evil, are they truly good men?
